Best of 2012 - My Favourite Beauty Products

Hi lovelies,

It's officially year 2013 today, yay! I really can't believe time went by so quickly. In this post I'm going to show you my Best of 2012: products I've been LOVING this year and with a mini review.

(from left to right, top to bottom)

1. Sigma Essential Kit Make Me Classy
Good make up starts with good tools. This year I bought Sigma's Essential kit in Make Me Classy. Following the hype around Youtube, I had to get this kit: my first make up brushes ever bought. No regrets at all! I'm so happy that I bought this brush kit, it makes the application of all my make up very easy, beautiful, hygienic and precise. Quality of the brushes are very good and these brushes lasts me forever Read my review here.

2. Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H
I've always used BB creams, until I got a huge break out mid of 2012. Therefore I wanted to buy something with more coverage and so I came across this one. I've been loving this foundation. Although the colour is a bit dark for me (match me better in summer), it dries fast and matte  (no need for setting powder!). It stays for a very long time and the coverage is medium.

3. Cyber Colors Duo White Essence BB Cream
This BB cream has been my favourite BB cream of this year. Not only it's very lightweight, light to medium coverage, but it also smells amazing and moisturize my skin very well. In the winter it's a bit fair, so I blend it together with my Lancome's Teint Idole Ultra for the perfect match. It's also the favourite BB cream of my sister! Read my review here.

4. Chi Silk Infusion
I love this stuff! It's basically a hair oil for the tips of your hair. It makes my hair super smooth and healthy looking. I've used it for months and I still have the half of the product leftRead my review here

5.The Body Shop Vineyard Peach Body Scrub
I never took care care of my body, but my internship at The Body Shop has changed it all! Their products are so made that I find it a pampering, instead of "oh I need to put some lotion on my dry skin". This scrub smells and works really amazing! Makes my skin super soft.

6. The Body Shop Moringa Body Butter
In conjunction with a body scrub, I always use a body butter of The Body Shop afterwards. But my favourite has to be moringa. It smells fresh, flowery and have I said that this is my favourite body butter?! I can't stop smelling at it and it hydrates my skin really all 24 hours long! Read my review here.

7. Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque
A strong pepperminty clay mask, for absorbing excess oil and help to minimize appearance of pores. My skin feels clean and fresh after use. Good thing that it dries my spots too.

8. Miss Dior Chérie Eau De Parfum
My first high-end parfume ever! The packaging and the smell is amazing. It smells fresh, flowery, with a bit of citrus and jasmine.

9. OPI Teenage Dream
The first opaque glittery nail polish I've bought. The colour is gorgeous, perfect colour for all year round.

10. OPI The One That Got Away
A very stunning colour, more pinkish than shown at the bottle. More for the winter season.

11. China Glaze Re-Fresh Mint
As the pastels were the beauty trend of year 2012, this beautiful mint colour is a must have one! With a cream finish perfect for the spring/summer season. Read my review here.

12. Mavala Mavadry
My nailpolish saver of all time! Everytime I apply nailpolish at night, the next morning I always, always get stripes and streaks on my painted nails. But this baby makes my nailpolish dries and shines in no time. Read my review here

13. The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil
An gentle oil containing of 15% tea tree oil and anti-bacterial agents for blemishes, such as spots and pimples. It was a extra care for my break outs.

14. Origins Super Spot Remover
Comparing to The Body Shop's Tea Tree Oil, this is some super amazing stuff. Really dries the spots/pimples in one or two days. Need to be careful of peeling the skin around the spot though. Read my review here.

My holy grail powder foundation? Yes please! This baby cacn give you a flawless natural look. Colour matches me perfectly

19. Eyelash Curler
An cheap ass eyelash curler bought in a cosmetic store in Hong Kong years ago. The first and the best eyelash curler I've ever tried.

20. Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette
Following the hype I also bought one. I'm  not really an eye shadow person yet, but this is the palette that I reach the most last year. With amazing colours and amazing quality. Too much colours that I'm still experimenting with it.

21. L'Oreal Super Liner
My holy grail (liquid) eyeliner! I'm so used to this felt tip now, that I can easily draw lines in the bus or train. Making eye liners has been so easy with this eye liner. The colour pay off is also great! Really can't live without it anymore. It's my 8th or 9th tube. Read my review here.

22. The Body Sop Super Volume Mascara
A very nice mascara to work with: holds my curl and gives my lashes the length and volume I want. This is the mascara for me if I don't want to have a pain in de ass mascara removal at night.

23. Kiss Me Heroine Make Volume&Curl Mascara
This is the best mascara mascara I've tried: waterproof, holds my curl amazingly good, gives my lashes super length and volume, seperates them neatly. BUT, this is also the hardest mascara to remove. Read my review here

24.  Lancome Le Crayon Sourcils
This is my first eye brow pencil ever and also the only one I own. Yep, this is the only pencil I'm using for like, 4 years?! I still have the half of my pencil left. This baby lasts forever and does it job also very well as a normal eyebrow pencil. Easy to work with and natural looking.

25. Tweezerman Swarovski Polka Dots Tweezers
This tweezer is a quite expensive, but a good investment one! I can't imagine using other tweezers. You may say this is my holy grail tweezer. Read my review here.

Quite a list of 25 beauty products. I hope this blogpost is hopeful for you guys, because I'm also interested in other's favourites. This is a good and reliable way of knowing what others are loving rather than reading product reviews one by one.

I would like to hear your favourites of 2012. Let me know in the comment section below

  1. This is such a good idea. I've been thinking of getting the super spot remover, but when I went to the store, the bottle was so tiny that I couldn't justify getting it for $14~ish (in the U.S.). But now I think I should have gotten it! D:

Do you apply it by putting it on your finger to dap it on your skin? I was a little confuse with the application when I saw it.

    Happy New Year!

    1. You definitely should if you have hard time taking care of pimples. It's worth the money. Although I've finished it in a few months, for some it lasts much longer. It kind of depends how bad the acne is ofcourse. And I apply it with a finger: I squeeze a little bit of gel onto my finger and apply it directly onto my blemishes. Try not to reach a lot of skin around the pimple: it really dries out and if you apply it more often it'll become worse and litterally you can peel the skin off (my experience). Nowadays I am quite gentle with this gel, I apply it once or two times and let it heal itselfs.

I hope this info will help you!

Thanks so much for stopping by and happy new year to you aswell! Hopefully 2013 will be an even better year for us all ^^

      Love, Suesue
